EmailThe winter chill returned to Britain with a vengeance today, with ice and snow sweeping the country.
Forecasters warned most of the country would see snow, with almost four inches in the worst-hit areas.
The cold snap - which has caused flight cancellations in Jersey and road chaos on the M40 - is set to continue until Thursday.
Strong winds blocked roads, the rail network struggled with signal failures and ferries also saw severe delays.
