Kenny Jackett tells Lions to forget about Wembley

Millwall manager warns players against dreaming of Cup semi-final
Tuesday 12 March 2013

Football: Millwall boss Kenny Jackett has warned his players against the perils of thinking beyond their immediate opponents.

The Lions travel to Blackburn tomorrow night for an FA Cup sixth-round replay knowing that victory will set up a Wembley date with Wigan.

But Jackett, who reported no fresh injury concerns before the clash, said: “You can’t be concentrating on Wigan at Wembley because you have to work out how to get there first. That equation is the thing we have to focus on.”

Blackburn boss Michael Appleton confirmed that Scott Dann has taken over the club’s captaincy from Danny Murphy.

“I had an honest conversation with Murph and explained to him I wanted to think about the future of the football club,” Appleton said.
