What made you join the communists?

EmailAs part of an ongoing project looking at the impact of communists and the party on British life, I would like to ask readers (and their friends, etc who were/are members of the CP) if you could send me a simple one or two line message about why you first joined?
I'm looking for simply what motivated you to join the party - what were your goals and hopes?
