Inspirational Chavez was a true leader

Forget Obama, Merkel and Cameron - for me Chavez along with the Castros are the real leaders of the free world.

Chavez freed his people from the exploiters, the neoliberalism, and corrupt corporations such as the IMF and World Bank.

The West and their media lackeys detested him because he wrestled power from the few and passed it to the many.

He and the people of Venezuela forged progressive alliances across Latin America and have showed the austerity-riddled West that there is an alternative and socialism for the 21st century does work.

I hope that the Bolivarian revolution continues to go from strength to strength and that the courage of the Venezuelan working class inspires others to follow the path to socialism.
