Leaving EU would help workers

Tuesday 12 March 2013

Andrew Northall (M Star March 4) asserts that an independent nation state is a "chimera in the modern world."

But I must somehow have missed his arguments for this fashionable, if erroneous, point of view.

He then proposes that Britain should be part of a centralised European union and asserts the alternative to this is "some anti-European, narrow nationalist, separatist go-it-alone cul-de-sac."

Andrew began by appearing to sympathise with Brian Denny's anger at being called a xenophobe, but he ends by virtually repeating that false accusation.

To be anti-EU is not to be anti-European.

Membership of the European Union is against the interests of all the working classes of Europe, including the British working class.
