EmailProtesters against state subsidies for Roman Catholic schools occupied Buenos Aires cathedral for four hours on Tuesday.
Around 150 people took part in the protest, which called for the money to be spent on improving schools conditions and opening new schools in the capital's slums instead.
The occupation forced a special mass in honour of the Vatican conclave to be cancelled.
