Join Sertuc in fighting austerity

Wednesday 13 March 2013

Congratulations on the Morning Star's excellent centre-page feature Who's the fattest cat of all? (M Star March 12).

It is well known that austerity economics is a massive rip-off that transfers wealth from workers and their families to the few, but it is helpful to read the plain facts about the fattest cat's limitless greed.

More important however, is organising and fighting back against the politics of austerity.

The Southern and Eastern TUC (Sertuc) has organised a resisting austerity conference at Congress House on Saturday March 16.

The objectives of the event are generating action and building unity and we have many good speakers including Owen Jones.

There will be plenty of opportunity for contributions and debate.

The event is free for all to attend but participants should register with Joanne Adams by calling (020) 7467-1218 or emailing jadams@tuc.org.uk. The conference will be held at Congress House, Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3LS, commencing at 10am.

Martin Gould, Sertuc president

Megan Dobney, Sertuc regional secretary
