Baltasar Kormakur's Hollywood remake of his Icelandic action pic has been highly successful in the US.
That's due to its glorification of gangsters, smuggling, vigilante violence and everything that defines US "morality."
In it Mark Wahlberg plays Chris, a smuggler turned family man.
He's persuaded to go back to business because his stupid nephew gets him into trouble with a psychopathic crook (Giovanni Ribsi).
The flaw in the plot is that subsequent events conspire to force him to come up with a plan that would confound the creators of Mission Impossible.
There are some great views of Panama as well as enough double-crosses to sow the seeds of confusion before a predictably explosive finale.
