Where does the CPB stand?

Tuesday 17 April 2012

Prominent Communist Party of Britain (CPB) member Andrew Murray writes: "In 599 out 600 constituencies at the next election Galloway will not be standing. The only plausible anti-war, anti-inequality candidate in almost all of those 599 seats will be the one wearing a Labour rosette" (M Star April 14).

If this is the settled and considered view of the membership of the CPB what is the point and purpose of the CPB?

I would suggest the CPB simply shuts up shop and joins the Labour Party en masse.

I am glad Andrew Murray has nailed his colours so clearly to Labour's mast.

The CPB should stop pretending to be an independent force of the left.

It is nothing of the sort but a left cheek of Labour's backside, to use George Galloway's colourful language.

This will leave the field free to the growing thousands who want to build a new party of the left.
