Bradley Wiggins is discharged from hospital

Thursday 08 November 2012

Football: A difficult 24-hours for British cycling ended today with Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins being released from hospital after he was injured in a collision with a van.

Wiggins, 32, was thought to have suffered broken ribs and a dislocated finger as he was thrown off his bike near his home in Lancashire last night.

But sources reported that he was discharged this afternoon from the Royal Preston Hospital.

Around the same time news of Wiggins’s release was announced, it was reported that Shane Sutton, head coach for the GB cycling team, had been taken to hospital with bleeding on the brain following a road accident while on his bike.
