Bomb hits fascist offices

Tuesday 04 December 2012

A bomb exploded outside the local office of the neofascist Golden Dawn party in the Greek industrial town of Aspropyrgos early today morning.

No-one was injured in the pre-dawn attack but it caused significant damage to the shop on the ground floor and the first-floor offices.

The home-made device also blew out windows of nearby shops.

Golden Dawn advocates expelling all immigrants from Greece and won 18 seats in the 300-member parliament in recent elections.

It has been accused of a wave of violent attacks against immigrants and pressing local businesses to fire foreign workers.

Stories abound of its activists demanding lists of foreign children who attend day-care centres or nursery schools.

It has been alleged that Golden Dawn has also been infiltrating the Greek police.
