Celtic's Neil Lennon thrilled to draw Juventus

Thursday 20 December 2012

Scottish football: The Celtic camp were inspired and excited after being drawn to face Italian champions and Serie A leaders Juventus in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Manager Neil Lennon said: "In terms of glamour it's great. In terms of qualification it's very tough."

However he also thinks his men stand a chance if they go to Italy in front. "They have got great belief," he said.

"Juventus is another game to relish and we want to go as far as we can."

Chief executive Peter Lawwell said facing the likes of Andrea Pirlo and Gigi Buffon was "fantastic," suggesting that the Hoops, who were runners-up to Barcelona in their group, can take inspiration from their home victory the last time they faced the Old Lady of Turin in 2001.
