Andy Murray looking forward to 2013

Thursday 27 December 2012

Tennis: Andy Murray vowed to have a 2013 to remember after losing an exhibition match in straight sets to Janko Tipsarevic today at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship.

The event in Abu Dhabi ended with a 6-3 6-4 defeat for the world number three, while Tipsarevic goes on to a semi-final clash against Nicolas Almagro.

But despite losing out to the Serbian, the US Open champion and Olympic gold medallist was upbeat.

Murray said: “I’m looking forward to training very hard and playing some of my best tennis next year.

“It’s nice to play in events like this and it’s a great atmosphere to play in.”
