That would be a silly thing to do.
By raising the question of Britain's EU membership, David Cameron has assured a further big increase in workers from eastern Europe and raised concerns among British citizens presently working in other EU countries about their permissions to continue working without permits as they do now.
And other EU countries might say that if Britain had accepted the euro, their problems would not have happened.
The British government complains about tax evasion and offshore accounts, but the EU could also argue that Britain itself is an offshore account with rules of its own.
What I find on this island off the coast of France is an extremely narrow and biased view of Europe that is far from reality.
