Ever since September 11 2001 the world has been gripped by a fear of terrorism - or a state of terror that has created the very thing it fears - while a Christian "crusade" has been met an understandable reaction, often in the name of "fundamental" Islam.
Racial and religious intolerance have been the winners. Secularism and socialism have been the losers, as has peace.
After Bush, Blair and Sharon - the true axis of evil - we have seen Obama, never mind Brown and let alone Netanyahu, saying: "Yes we can(t)" change anything.
Instead of this war of terror, people everywhere must demand that the 2010s are something completely different, a decade of waging peace and justice - socially, racially, environmentally.
