People put leaders to shame

Tuesday 05 January 2010

I would like to endorse everything Norma Turner wrote (M Star January 3). Yes, all of us have lost out due to the tragic indifference shown by the world's leaders.

They should all - whoever they are - adopt policies of engagement and understanding instead of stand-off and confrontation.

When I think of the countless number of community groups, interfaith groups and volunteer organisations many are staffed by volunteers who give their time to the poor and dispossessed in our society.

Compare that to the petty squabbles, moans and groans from politicians, who should feel nothing but shame for their actions.

So let's have less intransigence from those who govern and more in the way of tolerance. Remember, doing nothing is the biggest weapon of mass destruction.
