'Gangster' police chief jailed for four years

EmailOne of Scotland Yard's top brass has been sentenced to four years in prison after falsely arresting a man and attempting to frame him in a row over money.
Commander Ali Dizaei was convicted of misconduct and perverting the course of justice at London's Southwark Crown Court.
The court heard that he had attacked Iraqi Waad al-Baghdadi before arresting and attempting to frame him after Mr Baghdadi asked for £600 he was owed for building a website showcasing Mr Dizaei's career.
Mr Dizaei called 999 after arresting Mr Baghdadi and asked for "urgent assistance."
Once backup had arrived, Mr Dizaei claimed that Mr Baghdadi had stabbed him using a shisha pipe mouthpiece attached to his keyring.
But doctors concluded that two red marks on Mr Dizaei's torso were probably self-inflicted and did not match the pipe.
Mr Baghdadi compared Mr Dizaei to movie gangster Tony Montana - a character played by Al Pacino in the 1983 film Scarface.
