Lib Dem leaders' principles are embodied by dictum of Marx

Wednesday 17 March 2010

I am sure few Star readers would disagree with the Star Comment (Four reasons not to vote Tory).

But there is another danger - the Liberal Democrats.

Writing in The Guardian last Monday, Spectator editor Fraser Nelson had this to say: "For his part, Nick Clegg is all dressed up in blue and ready to tango."

Last week Clegg told The Spectator how much he admires Margaret Thatcher for defeating the miners' union in the 1980s.

He duly denounced her to The Guardian later, but this is the skills of the Lib Dems. They are ideologically flexible.

They embody the Groucho Marx dictum, "these are my principles and if you don't like them, well, I've got others."

So I would urge any comrade who was thinking of voting for the Tories' second eleven because they cannot bring themselves to vote Labour again to find an alternative party to vote for.

We definitely do not need David Cameron, supported by a clone, running this country.
