Why walk out? Withdraw invite to Cameron

Wednesday 14 July 2010

Tony Shelley's advice (M Star July 11) to Bob Crow (M Star July 12) is not to walk out when David Cameron addresses the TUC Congress.

But surely the question is why the hell should Cameron walk into our Congress?

We don't need him to tell trade unionists about Con-Dem policies of 40 per cent cuts and legislation to prevent industrial action in opposition to those cuts.

There won't be any chance to argue our case when Cameron's there. Much better that the hour or so that would be wasted be given back to the delegates to plan a united fightback.

This paper's line is spot on - withdraw the invitation to Cameron or any other Con-Dem Cabinet member.
