As a Unite member trying to end big names taking decisions, I will want to know whether the decision was endorsed by the EC or the Labour committee.
Incidentally, other unions have also supported Ed as against David Miliband as the best of the pair.
But shouldn't they look to the future and campaign for a good turnout at the lobby of Parliament to support John McDonnell's Private Members Bill (Trade Union Rights and Freedoms) on October 13?
How many "sponsored" MPs can the unions get to attend Parliament for the second reading on Friday October 22 and stay there, so that the Bill on balloting rules can go forward?
I'm certain that Diane Abbot will be there.
It's time that the big unions, who between them financially back the majority of Labour MPs, insist that they will lose financially unless they turn to new policies that will benefit working people.
This is a more positive position than harking back all the time.
And it is one of the ways to defeat the new Labour strategy that was instrumental in losing the general election.
