Fury (18)

Directed by David Weaver

Don't be fooled into thinking this is a film about the Avengers' Nick Fury even though it stars Samuel L Jackson because you are going to be mightily disappointed.

It was originally called The Samaritan after the con Jackson's character is forced to stage.

As always, Jackson is phenomenal as a grifter who is determined to go straight after spending 25 years behind bars.

Of course that is never going to happen.

It's a gritty though somewhat predictable thriller but it is saved by an evil twist and Jackson's powerhouse performance.
