I am not quite sure what point Stephen Smith was making in his criticism of Scottish football correspondent Douglas Beattie (M Star October 23).
It did sound like an apologia for the more lumpen elements of the Rangers support.
His remarks about Alex Thomson and the author of Downfall are somewhat devalued, when his source is a Sun editorial. What planet has Mr Smith been on these past few years?
