Brown makes Remploy plea

Former prime minister Gordon Brown made a rare Commons appearance today to back a campaign to save two Scottish Remploy plants.

The Kirkcaldy MP launched an adjournment debate on the threatened plants at Cowdenbeath and Leven, protesting that the 60 workers at the plants face redundancy and long-term unemployment unless more cash support is provided.
