Police asked witnesses to come forward today after a man was stabbed and left for dead by two raiders who demanded the keys to his Mercedes car outside his home in Hindley, Wigan.

The 59-year-old victim was targeted as he walked out of his front door on Sunday morning.

Detective Inspector Graham Atherton said: "I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the attack or saw men matching these descriptions in the area to contact me as soon as possible."
