Samaris create new Iceland saga
If you like horror films to make you jump out of your skin then this old-fashioned supernatural tale starring Oscar-nominated Jessica Chastain is definitely for you.
Based on director Andres Muschietti's short film Mama it centres on two young sisters who are found in the woods five years after they vanished.
Their uncle (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and his rock chick girlfriend (Chastain) agree to take care of them but unfortunately the kids are not alone.
Megan Charpentier and Isabelle Nelisse are terrifying as the feral-like girls while Chastain shows her incredible versatility and talent as the cool rocker who discovers her maternal instinct.
At times reminiscent of Japanese horror movies, it is creepy and chilling. Guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.
