Our target is £6,913

A SOLID £562 on Friday looks better than it is, because £352 of that total came from our standing orders team.

That means that our Fund post was down to a very slim £210 and we are going to have to do better than that if we are to raise over £6,800 in the next 12 days, there being only eight postal deliveries in that period.

Still, I know that you will do your best and, having seen just how good your best can be over the last few years, I am fairly confident.

Thanks to a couple of our more far-flung readers in France for £50, a Windsor supporter for £20, a Chesterfield couple for £10, a Neath reader for £60, another Windsor supporter for £60 - no, not from the castle - and an old friend in Liverpool for £10.

Just to let you know, the reconstruction of our newsroom is proceeding apace and we now hope to be back in it just before Christmas. The electricians and painters are hard at work and it is hard to remember the fire-blackened ruin that we were facing a mere few weeks ago.
