WE would like to thank the many Morning Star readers who supported our efforts to send a fully loaded mobile library to Cuba.

The bookmobile is on its way to its final destination of the 1868 Provincial Library in Granma province.

Before departure, it was closely inspected and repaired by good mechanics who knew how far it had to travel. It successfully arrived in Tampico, Mexico, with the 19th annual Pastors for Peace Caravan.

The trip from McAllen, Texas, to Tampico, Mexico, comprised a caravan of 12 vehicles, 10 of which were donated to Cuba along with nearly 100 tons of aid. Over 100 people from all over the US and Canada, as well as England, Germany, Ireland, Denmark and Mexico, travelled with the caravan.

We want to offer our humble thanks to all the many people and organisations that assisted us with this project through generous financial backing, fabulous book donations and tremendous emotional support and enthusiasm.

Without the strength and support of all of you, this project would not have been so exciting, so colourful, so meaningful or so successful.
