ONE can imagine the scene. Our Prime Minister, excited and slightly flushed, surrounded by Team GB all flashing their gold medals at him and our Mr Brown explaining that it would be best, purely on security grounds, if he collected them all up and stored them in the vaults of the Bank of England.
