Splits between anti-fascists

IN reference to your front-page report BNP: Not welcome anywhere (August 17), I must take exception to your statement that the protests were organised by Unite Against Fascism.

The protest had been organised months in advance by Notts Stop The BNP, with UAF refusing to have anything to do with it even when it had been invited to take part.

It then belatedly set up its own protest when it realised that it a major protest would take place without its involvement. Its behaviour throughout was petty, to say the least, at a time when maximum solidarity was needed.
