The fight on fascism today and yesterday

A BIG thank you to all the comrades, friends and visitors from various backgrounds who attended the May 9 victory commemorations at the Soviet war memorial at the Imperial War Museum.

It was an honour for me to lay a wreath on behalf of the Communist Party of Britain and it was wonderful to associate with Atlantic convoy veterans as well as members of London's growing Russian population - I have never met so friendly a people as the Russians.

The fight against fascism did not end in May 1945. It continues today with the struggle against the BNP. We must redouble all of our efforts to defeat the far-right in the school, the workplace, the street and at the ballot box.

We must never forget and never falter. No Pasaran!
