ANOTHER remake of an Asian horror film which became the highest grossing movie in Thailand.
With a US cast and Japanese director Masayuki Ochiai at the helm, it is creepier than your normal remake. Joshua Jackson (Dawson's Creek) and Rachael Taylor (Transformers) play the newlyweds who move to Japan and discover disturbing ghostly images in photographs that they develop following a tragic accident.
There is a more sinister explanation to the apparitions, which gives Shutter a more interesting edge, but every twist and turn appears to be taken from Asian horror movies that have come before.
