Eerie folk mix
WITCHY folk duo Pumajaw have been making records for around a decade under one name or another and it seems that the rest of the British music scene is finally catching up to their hybrid of ancient folk and electronic psychedelia.
They've roped in James Yorkston and Alasdair Roberts, whose own tastes run along very similar lines, for this fine second outing as Pumajaw.
Pinkie Maclure's spectral vocals loop and swirl around John Wills's eerie soundscapes in an intoxicating concoction that's a must for fans of Rachel Unthank or the many other artists exploring the gothic end of British folk.
