Dennis Quaid is on form as the selfish, self-absorbed, pompous widowed Professor Lawrence Wetherhold, who acts like an idiot when he falls for his former student Janet (Sarah Jessica Parker).

Ellen Page relives her Juno role of sorts as his acid-tongued, overachieving teenage daughter, who runs his life and his home.

Thomas Haden Church plays his adopted loser of a brother who moves in with them. He has the best lines in this darkly funny film and it's worth it just for them.
