England face Russia first

ENGLAND will launch their defence of the European Nations Cup against Russia in Moscow's Olympic Stadium on Sunday October 24, it was announced yesterday.

England beat the Russians 102-0 at Bradford last season, but will find them a tougher proposition on home soil.

Russia, who have made marked progress in the last 12 months under former New Zealand coach Bob Bailey, begin their campaign at home to France on October 16.
