NEWCASTLE boss Kevin Keegan is preparing for next season after holding "productive and constructive" talks with owner Mike Ashley on Friday.

The 57-year-old headed for London on Friday in the wake of his comments over the club's prospects of breaking into the Premier League's top four.

Chairman Chris Mort and his newly appointed deputy Derek Llambias, as well as executive director Dennis Wise and vice-president Tony Jimenez were also at the meeting, which took place at Freshfields.

Mort said: "It was a good meeting. It was both productive and constructive."

Keegan's team visit Everton on Sunday for the final game of the season.
