Rossi sacked after attacking player

Thursday 03 May 2012

Football: Fiorentina sacked coach Delio Rossi after he physically attacked midfielder Adem Ljajic during the club’s 2-2 draw with Novara.

The attack came after the player’s apparent dissent at being substituted just 32 minutes into last night's game.

Ljajic responded by appearing to sarcastically clap the coach as he took his place on the bench and Rossi responded by throwing punches before being pulled away by others in the dug-out.
