Ben Cairns set for Racing comeback

Thursday 13 December 2012

Rugby union: Edinburgh's Ben Cairns is set to start for the first time in 15 months against Racing Metro in the European Cup tomorrow night.

The Pool One encounter at Murrayfield gives the hosts an opportunity to avenge last weekend’s 19-9 defeat in Paris and they will also seek to score their first try in the competition.

Head coach Michael Bradley has made eight changes, including a return for fit-again centre Cairns.

Cairns’s fellow centre Ben Atiga also returns from injury along with Fijian back-row forward Netani Talei and Georgian number eight Dimitri Basilaia, who is on the bench.

Bradley said: “All of these players are straining at the leash, are desperate to get a win for Edinburgh and to put in a performance worthy of reselection.”
