Lock-out looms as NHL pay talks stall
Wednesday 02 January 2013
Ice hockey: The possibility of the forthcoming 2013 National Hockey League (NHL) being suspended increased today as talks over a new pay deal stalled.
The NHL has made a counter-offer to the players’ association in response to the one submitted by the players on Monday.
The package is now under review but the NHL have set a deadline of January 11 so a 48-game season can begin eight days later.
