Solomon Hughes has described the interest of our top brass in the sale of weapons (M Star March 11).
There is more. Our paper published a piece by myself entitled Big guns come out to play on March 17 2008. I noted that Lords Guthrie, Boyce and Inge had taken part in a Lords debate on defence on November 22 2007 without declaring their pecuniary interests in "defence" industries. They later apologised to the House of Lords. A parish council would have been required to kick them out.
General Guthrie recently attended at least his third Herzliya conference. He did not lecture this time, but the Jerusalem Post reported that "Lord Charles Guthrie, a former chief of General Staff of the British Army, warned that Israel might find such membership (of NATO) restrictive." Quite so.
How should we regard the presence of this man at a conference on strategy that takes place within the zionist entity. He knows much of our defence secrets, so he will be very careful there. He is forgetting the hundreds of British servicemen who were blown apart by zionist terrorist gangs, the thousands upon thousands of Palestinians similarly killed, and the millions imprisoned and often tortured.
Perhaps his concern for what is right and for what is wrong is partly explained by his being a patron of that ever-so-moral charity the Jewish National Fund. This is according to a statement from the Liberal Democrat office. He is in the good company of Brown, Cameron, Blair, Israeli ambassador Ron Prosor, Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks etc.
