Does Morning Star favour 'smoking stacks?'

Monday 14 February 2005

I WOULD like to support the ideas outlined in the letter from Irene Willis (M Star, February 4).

Maybe I am wrong to imagine that the Morning Star, because of its links with the unions, often seems to favour the "smoking stack" philosophy that Irene mentioned in a George Galloway speech.

We really must think carefully whether the Earth can sustain unlimited growth which all parties promise.

Although I realise that the poor nations need more wordly goods, nevertheless, this continual rush to manufacture more and more for economic growth is ruining our planet with poison and destruction while robbing it of limited resources.

Only the Green Party recognises this fact and is, therefore, the only party with a realistic agenda for tackling the problem and improving the quality of life.
