WITH his team riding high in third place in the Premier League, Everton manager David Moyes signed a new contract yesterday to keep him at the club until 2009.
The 41-year-old Scot took over in March 2002, after the dismissal of Walter Smith.
Everton just missed out on a UEFA Cup spot in '02-'03 season, but the Toffees slumped to 17th place and barely escaped relegation last season.
Despite being forced to sell top striker Wayne Rooney to Manchester United over the summer, Everton has emerged as the season's surprise team.
Everton are third in the table with 23 points, six behind leaders Chelsea and four adrift of defending champions Arsenal.
