Every punter knows that death and destruction are the only sure bets at the Grand National (M Star May 2).

Every year, we see exhausted animals crash face-first into the ground and into one another on this deliberately punishing and hazardous course, as if their lives were worthless.

Bred for greed and speed, Synchronised and According to Pete were whipped and pushed to breaking point and their deaths were completely avoidable.

Only someone bone ignorant or totally arrogant could suggest otherwise.
