A BOURNEMOUTH beach hut which measures just 8ft by 14ft sold for £100,000 yesterday.
The one-room brick chalet at Southbourne Beach, which has a view over Poole Bay, but no toilet, sold with 54 years left on its lease.
The hut was previously sold 20 years ago for only £7,500.
Solicitor Joss Payne, managing partner at Bournemouth law firm Laceys, who handled both the 1984 purchase and the current sale, said: "I told the buyer then that I thought he was crazy to pay that much, but how wrong can you be? That's been a pretty effective investment."
