NETBALL: Elmere van der Berg shot 41 goals and Lois Pearson hit another 20 as Manchester Thunder claimed a narrow 61-57 win at champions Loughborough to move three points clear at the top of the Super League. London Pulse are level on points with second-placed Loughborough after edging out Leeds 49-48, Surrey Storm won 63-56 at Team Bath and Saracens Mavericks beat off bottom club Strathclyde 57-41.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Ronan Hale scored twice in extra time as Cliftonville came from behind to beat Belfast neighbours Linfield 3-1 and lift the Irish Cup at a sold out Windsor Park on Saturday afternoon. It’s the first time since 1979 that Cliftonville have picked up the trophy and it ensured that Linfield have finished as runners-up in both major competitions in the north of Ireland this season.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Reigning champions Llandovery will meet Newport in next week’s Welsh Premiership Grand Final after they came from behind to overcome Cardiff 34-13 in Saturday’s semi final. Joe Westwood bagged a hat-trick in Newport’s comfortable 48-13 win over Ebbw Vale in the other last four tie. Just one point separated league winners Llandovery from Newport in the regular season with each team winning one of their match-ups.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Fan-owned Clyde FC won their last game of the season 3-0 at Elgin Rovers to ensure their Scottish League Two survival for another season. Seemingly chained to the basement by February Clyde won six and drew two of their last eleven games, including an incredible 6-1 win at champions Stenhousemuir, to survive. Bottom club Stranraer will face Lowland League champions East Kilbride in a two-legged promotion/relegation play-off.
