MEN’S FOOTBALL: Leeds are up against Norwich at Elland Road on Thursday night in the second leg of their Championship promotion play-off semi final.

The scores are level after Saturday’s first leg ended 0-0. Leeds have only been out of the top flight for a year while Norwich were relegated from the Premier League in 2022.

Tomorrow evening’s winners will face either West Brom or Southampton for a place back in the big time.

RUGBY LEAGUE: Thursday’s opening game in the women’s State of Origin first ever three match series kicks off a four-day rugby league festival in Brisbane which sees 16 of the National Rugby League’s teams in action at the Suncorp Stadium.

The Magic Weekend event is sold out and over 140,000 spectators will attend, with a record crowd expected at the women’s game when Queensland defend their title against New South Wales.

SPEEDWAY: Premiership leaders Ipswich Witches will be looking to extend their two-point lead over Belle Vue at the top when they put their unbeaten home record on the line against Birmingham tomorrow evening.

Former captain Justin Sedgman has re-signed for Birmingham and will replace the misfiring Vaclav Milic at Thursday night’s meeting. Reigning champions Sheffield visit bottom club King’s Lynn in today’s other fixture.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Defending Copa Libertadores champions Fluminense take on Paraguay’s Cerro Porteno on Thursday in the penultimate group stage matches at South America’s equivalent of the Champions League.

A win will put the Brazilians into the round of sixteen with a game to spare.

La Paz’s Bolivar will also qualify with three points at Flamengo and Sao Paulo’s Palmeiras only need a draw against Ecuador’s Independiente Valle to progress.
