NEWLY privatised Royal Mail paid out £4.5 million to its executives in the last financial year — £500,000 less than in the previous 12 months, new figures revealed yesterday.
Chief executive Moya Greene’s pay and benefits dropped from £1.96 million to £1.35m, with her salary remaining at £498,000 — 50 times more than her workers — the group’s annual report showed.
While chairman Donald Brydon was paid £200,000, the same as the previous financial year.
Managing director of operations Mark Higson received £1.2 million in pay and benefits, the same as the previous year, while chief finance officer Matthew Lester saw his total package fall slightly to £1.3 million.
The report covers the period last autumn when the company was privatised.
