HAILED as the “miracle on the Hudson,” it’s hard to forget the iconic and powerful images of US Airways flight 1549 in the Hudson River with scores of people on the plane’s wings, alive and well, seven years ago.

In the wake of the devastating Colombia plane crash this week, it’s a timely reminder that miracles can happen and that in the case of Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger (Tom Hanks), his split-second decision over New York in January 2009 resulted in him saving the lives of the 155 people on board his aircraft.
