Australia’s Michael Clarke a doubt for ODI finale against England

Captain’s back problem flares up again on eve of one-day decider against England

Australia captain Michael Clarke’s back problem has flared up again and he is doubtful for the one-day series decider against England at Hampshire tomorrow.

The tourists were already set to recall Phil Hughes after Shaun Marsh hurt his hamstring during Saturday’s series-levelling three-wicket defeat in Cardiff.

Clarke is still hoping to play but coach Darren Lehmann said: “If he’s not right, we won’t risk him.” All-rounder Glenn Maxwell is a possible replacement.
