Prominent left-wing activists to launch Stop Starmer campaign

PROMINENT left-wing activists will launch a campaign this Saturday to stop Sir Keir Starmer becoming the next prime minister.

Liverpool campaigner Audrey White, who confronted the Labour leader spectacularly in a cafe, is among speakers at the Stop Starmer’s midday launch event in Conway Hall in central London.

The activist blasted him for breaking the pledges he made to win the party leadership in a videoed exchange during a visit to Liverpool in January 2020, which was viewed by millions.

Former Labour campaigner Crispin Flintoff, who raised more than £150,000 for CLPs, will also speak.

He said: “Keir Starmer is a danger to our democracy. He will say or do anything in pursuit of power.

“He is the most untrustworthy political leader this country has seen … he is carrying out a McCarthyite witch-hunt of the party — the biggest political purge of recent times.”

Other speakers include Andrew Feinstein, Becky Massey, Carel Buxton,  Chris Williamson, Deepa Driver, Bob Gill, George Galloway, Huda Ammori and Richard Murphy.
