From a hospital side room
An emaciated woman beckoned me in.
She wore a bindi
Said to cover concealed wisdom.

I didn’t understand
what she meant by her whispered: Bhajan Bhajan.
I saw an Asian doctor in the corridor
and asked if she could help translate.

She wants you to pray over her.
She feels she is dying.
